DEPUTIES SEARCH FOR TEEN WANTED
FOR ATTEMPED MURDER
The
Volusia County Sheriff’s Office
is seeking the public’s help in
locating an Orange City teen
wanted for attempted felony
murder and armed home invasion
robbery. Sixteen-year-old Levon
Desaussure is wanted for his
role in an attack on May 4 near
Orange City in which a knife was
pulled on a 28-year-old victim.
The victim fended off his
attackers, but was beaten and
sustained a laceration to his
left hand. One other person has
been charged in the attack.
Deputies were dispatched to 990
Liskeard Ave. at about 12:03
a.m. on May 4 after receiving a
911 call about the attack.
Responding deputies located the
victim walking down the street.
He told deputies that he had
been beaten by men with bandanas
on their faces who had come
knocking and then pulled him
outside after he opened the
door. He said they punched and
kicked him and tried to stab
him. The suspects demanded money
and then took the wallet from
their victim, Aaron Wells. He
sustained injuries to his back,
pain in his midsection and
lacerations to his left hand.
The victim’s 24-year-old
girlfriend was also home during
the attack, but wasn’t injured.
His wallet was later found in
the street, with about $15
missing.
Sheriff’s investigators have
already charged 21-year-old Kyle
Bell of Orange City with
attempted felony murder and home
invasion robbery. Earlier this
week investigators obtained an
arrest warrant for Desaussure,
but have been unable to locate
him. Desaussure is 5’11” and
weighs about 155 pounds, with
brown hair and brown eyes. His
last known address was on
Greenwood Avenue in Orange City.
Anyone with information
regarding Desaussure’s
whereabouts is asked to call
Crime Stoppers of Northeast
Florida, toll-free, at (888)
