DEPUTIES SEARCHING FOR THREE
YOUNG SIBLINGS
The
Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in
locating three siblings between the ages
of 4-10 who are supposed to be in
the state’s custody. The Florida Department of Children and
Families has been looking for Ceili Rudy (age 8),
Darien
Rudy (age 4) and Rainah Rudy
(age 10) since Monday, when a judge ordered the children into
the state’s care. They’re believed to be with their mother,
38-year-old Christina Brock, who has pending drug charges and
also is a suspect in several
criminal investigations. The Sheriff’s Office was brought in to
assist in the search on Thursday.
Officials
are concerned for the welfare of the children because of their
mother’s drug use and the fact that their whereabouts are
unknown and the two older children aren’t enrolled in school. In
2007, Brock pled no contest after being charged with possession
of methamphetamine. She also has an arraignment next month on
charges of cocaine possession. Investigators believe Brock has
been buying large quantities of over-the-counter medications
that are commonly used to manufacture methamphetamine.
Brock and the children recently
moved out of their last known address on Cardinal Boulevard in
Port Orange. They’ve also been spotted at a storage facility on
North Spring Garden Avenue in DeLand. Anyone with information
regarding the whereabouts of the children or Brock is asked to
call the Sheriff’s Office at (386) 736-5999.
Update: 09/26/09 - 8:46 p.m.
The children were recovered
today in Leesburg. They are safe-n-sound and currently in
the care of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and
the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Officials with the Florida
Department of Children and Families are en-route to execute
the court order to take the children into their custody.
