SBA Opens Business Recovery Center in Daytona Beach to Help Storm-Affected Businesses and Residents

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has opened a Business Recovery Center in Volusia County to assist business owners and residents affected by Hurricane Milton. The center, located at the UCF Business Incubator, 601 Innovation, Daytona Beach, will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday until further notice.

SBA representatives will be available to help business owners and residents complete their disaster loan applications, answer questions about the process, and provide guidance on available resources. The SBA offers several types of disaster loans to assist those impacted by Hurricane Milton:

  • Business Physical Disaster Loans – Available to businesses of any size and private nonprofit organizations to repair or replace disaster-damaged real estate, inventory, supplies, machinery, and equipment.
  • Economic Injury Disaster Loans – Provides working capital to small businesses, agricultural cooperatives, aquaculture businesses, and most private nonprofit organizations to help cover operating expenses they cannot meet due to the disaster.
  • Home Disaster Loans – Available to homeowners and renters to repair or replace disaster-damaged real estate and personal property.

Applicants approved for an SBA disaster loan may also be eligible for additional funds to make property improvements that reduce future disaster risk. These mitigation funds may be used for projects such as retaining walls, seawalls, and sump pumps.

The deadline to apply for a Physical Disaster Loan is April 27, while the deadline for an Economic Injury Disaster Loan is July 11. Business owners and residents are encouraged to visit the newly opened Business Recovery Center in Daytona Beach for assistance. They can also visit www.sba.gov/disaster, call the SBA’s Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955, or email disastercustomerservice@sba.gov.
