Review Coastal Resiliency Presentations Online and Share Input
Posted On: March 20, 2025

Volusia County is seeking public input on the future of its coastline. Residents and stakeholders can now review materials and presentations online from the recent coastal resiliency informational sessions and share feedback through a virtual input form.
The sessions, held last month, brought together approximately 200 residents to discuss long-term strategies for protecting and improving the community's beaches. Attendees were provided an overview of historic shoreline trends, shared findings from the County's first Coastal User Survey, which garnered more than 12,000 responses, and explored potential solutions to strengthen coastal resiliency.
Rather than a formal presentation, the meetings featured interactive stations where attendees could engage directly with experts and discuss topics such as erosion, storm impacts, and sustainable beach management. Those who were unable to attend can now access the same information and contribute their thoughts online. The ability to provide input will be available through Sunday, April 6.
Volusia County's beaches are more than just a scenic backdrop; they are a vital part of the local environment, economy, and way of life. Public feedback will play a key role in shaping the County's long-term approach to preserving and protecting these treasured shorelines for future generations.
