Volusia County Beach Safety to host 2018 Pan American Championships open water competition
Volusia County Beach Safety will host the open water swim competition portion of the 2018 Pan American Championships Sunday, Aug. 5, on the beach behind the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort.

7:15 a.m. Warm up
7:45 a.m. End Warm up
8 a.m. First heat starts
The 10-day Pan American Championships are coordinated by Union Americana de Natacion (UANA) and hosted by the Central Florida YMCA. The international competition is expected to attract thousands of athletes from the Americas to the Central Florida area. In addition to the open water competition, the Central Florida YMCA is the headquarters for the championships, which also features swimming, water polo, diving and artistic swimming competitions at the pool in Orlando.
