Clinical Services
Our Clinical Services Department is responsible for implementing all continuing education, training, and enhancement education programs at Volusia County EMS. In addition, the department is responsible for maintaining all training records and adherence to all quality assurance reviews.
Our Clinical Services and Training Department also provides free in-house continuing medical education (CEU) to our paramedics and EMTs. Our training programs exceed state required CEU criteria. Both Volusia County EMS and the State of Florida require that EMTs and paramedics complete 32 hours of CEU every two years. To provide for this, Volusia County EMS and the Volusia County EMS Medical Director offer separate comprehensive CEU opportunities for all paramedics and EMTs. In fact, during the last two years, Volusia County EMS offered hundreds of hours of CEUs, in addition to being an American Heart Association Training Center. We offer courses in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), PALS, BTLS, PHTLS, CPR and American Heart Association instructor certification classes.
Volusia County EMS paramedics and EMT's devote all of their professional attention to improving and refining the care that they deliver on a daily basis. They receive continuous in-service training on the newest theories and applications in emergency medicine. Equally important is our personnel’s dedication to the complete needs of our patients and their families. Providing more than treatment, our personnel deliver the highest level of compassionate care.
