Disposing of tires

State law prohibits burying tires in landfills. Residents may take up to four typical automobile-size tires (on or off rims) FREE on Saturdays only to:

• Tomoka Landfill, 1990 Tomoka Farms Road, Port Orange
• West Volusia Transfer Station, 3151 E. State Road 44, DeLand

Passenger vehicle tires may be disposed at either waste facility during weekdays for a minimal charge. Oversized or off-road tires may be disposed at the Tomoka Landfill only for a  processing fee.

Note: Residents are limited to hauling a maximum of 24 tires by the Florida State DOT.
