Operations

The following are functions for which Operations is responsible:  

Operations

  • Day-to-day management of Fire/Rescue operations through oversight of operational Division Chiefs
  • Assist Fire Chief in preparation of annual Fire/Rescue contracts for various municipalities and provide oversight of this function
  • Monitor the new service delivery model for continued improvement
  • Monitor the effectiveness of automatic vehicle location (AVL) and priority dispatch 

Wildfire Mitigation

  • Oversight of wildland fuels management, public education and mitigation programs
  • Emergency response in support of operations
  • Management of Wildland Fire Response Team "Fire Walker"
  • Fire hydrant maintenance and records oversight

ARFF-Airport Rescue Firefighting

  • Oversight of all emergency operations for Daytona Beach International Airport (DBIA) Fire/Rescue specialty programs
  • Budgetary management of ARFF component at DBIA

Special Operations (HazMat, Firewalker and TRT)

  • Oversight of countywide Hazardous Materials Team, Technical Rescue program and Firewalker Team
  • Coordinate the effective integration of special teams with each discipline as well as Airport and Fire Operations
  • Ensure compliance with all necessary training requirements and equipment of special team
