Operations
The following are functions for which Operations is responsible:
Operations
- Day-to-day management of Fire/Rescue operations through oversight of operational Division Chiefs
- Assist Fire Chief in preparation of annual Fire/Rescue contracts for various municipalities and provide oversight of this function
- Monitor the new service delivery model for continued improvement
- Monitor the effectiveness of automatic vehicle location (AVL) and priority dispatch
Wildfire Mitigation
- Oversight of wildland fuels management, public education and mitigation programs
- Emergency response in support of operations
- Management of Wildland Fire Response Team "Fire Walker"
- Fire hydrant maintenance and records oversight
ARFF-Airport Rescue Firefighting
- Oversight of all emergency operations for Daytona Beach International Airport (DBIA) Fire/Rescue specialty programs
- Budgetary management of ARFF component at DBIA
Special Operations (HazMat, Firewalker and TRT)
- Oversight of countywide Hazardous Materials Team, Technical Rescue program and Firewalker Team
- Coordinate the effective integration of special teams with each discipline as well as Airport and Fire Operations
- Ensure compliance with all necessary training requirements and equipment of special team
